Differences Between Offline And Online Marketing

If you want to market your online business successfully, you will have to do some advertising. Sure it’s possible to get quality traffic using free traffic methods, but this is as long process that will have you waiting years to see the highly profitable results that you are looking for. But if you spend money on advertising, you can achieve your goals at an incredibly faster rate.

Marketing online and marketing offline is totally different. With offline marketing, they say that it’s all about “location, location, location”. This is true, but you still have to do marketing to drive an endless stream of prospects into your business. Plus, once you get these people into your place of business, you need a marketing plan that will allow you to sell to them even more in the form of direct mail, coupons, or even email marketing.

On the internet, this is different. There is no “location, location, location”. Many people think that they can just put up a website and then people will “magically” find it. This isn’t the field of dreams. If you build it, and do no marketing… NOBODY will come. So location, location, location doesn’t really apply to online marketing.

Now sure you can operate in a niche market easily online, but the fact remains… if you just build it, nobody will come. This applies if you build a website, and are hoping to get a ton of people to come straight to your site. If you want fast traffic to your site, you will have to pour some money into advertising.

There’s nothing wrong with this. This is normal actually. In the same way that an offline business has to advertise, you have to advertise also. But in the online world, you can also get a lot of sales via free marketing, and lower your overall costs of getting a customer when you do advertising.

This should make you very excited. Free marketing is very effective, and is something that you should employ in your business today – alongside doing paid advertising. Now I forgot to mention something. What I have said so far applies to whether you start your own website. But there are actually 2 main places online that you can sell on where “location, location, location” DOES apply.

What are these 2 places online? Here they are:

1) eBay

2) Amazon

Both of these sites make it easy for the “little guy” to start making money online. You don’t have to generate traffic, getting backend sales are easy, and all you have to do is list your products up for sale, and start making money. If you’re lazy like me, then you will probably want to start off with these 2 sites to start making money online.

Many beginners to internet marketing and the whole world of online business think that it takes a lot of hard work to make it happen. This isn’t necessarily true. You just have to be smart. The smarter and more creative you get with your marketing, the more people will view you as a guru, and will visit your site over and over again each and everyday. Be sure to take this advice seriously.
